  • Only your salon can quote you: these are published prices, and your city, the stylist and any add-ons change them.

Every price and gap is quoted from 11 publishers’ pages (StyleSeat’s booking data, price guides, lash, nail and hair brands, a lash salon’s survey, a lifestyle magazine), at least two for each service; each guide’s range is drawn as it gives it, never averaged. Checked 2026-10-19. Ours: the band every guide’s range includes (the lowest to the highest when they do not meet), the visits a year (52 weeks or 12 months over the gap), the first year as one full set and then the refills or fills, and the tip on every visit. Your own price beats every range.

Quick answer: lash extensions cost $125–$300 a full set and $55–$110 a refill every 2–4 weeks: about $1,230–$2,520 the first year with a 20% tip. A gel manicure is about $40 a visit, a pedicure $35–$40, balayage $150–$300 every 3–4 months, box braids $130–$350.

How to use it

Pick the service and how often you go back, and the tip you leave. The answer is what it costs a year, a month and a visit. Type your salon’s price if you know it, and it replaces every guide’s range: for lash extensions and acrylic nails, the refill or fill you pay for most often, and the full set if you like. The chart draws each guide’s own year as a bar and shades your estimate behind them, so you can see how far apart the guides are.

What each service costs, on every guide

A visit is the price every guide’s range includes: where their ranges meet. The acrylic fill is the one place they do not meet (StyleSeat $15–$20, The Pricer $30–$55), so the calculator runs from the lowest to the highest and says so. The year is at each service’s middle gap: lashes, acrylics and gel every 3 weeks, a pedicure every 4, balayage every 4 months and box braids every 8 weeks.

Each price is the guide’s own, never an average of theirs; a + after a price marks a range the guide leaves open at the top. StyleSeat’s come from its booking data. Divine Lashes surveyed 150 salons: “A full set of classic lashes costs an average of $164, with refills costing $71.”

How the year adds up

Visits a year are 52 weeks over the gap, or 12 months: every 3 weeks is about 17 visits, every 4 months is 3. For lash extensions and acrylic nails the first year is one full set and then the refills or fills, so the refills are most of the money: about 86–88% of the first year at every 3 weeks. Already wearing them, a year of refills alone is $1,140–$2,290. Every other service is the same price each visit. The tip goes on every visit. StyleSeat: “Tipping 20 percent of the total cost for your nail appointment is the best rule of thumb to follow.” Curlcentric: “Most people tip between 10% and 25% of the bill, plus about $3 to $5 for each assistant who helped with the service.”

Examples

  • Lash extensions, refills every 3 weeks: about $1,230–$2,520 a year. A full set at $125–$300, then about 16 refills at $55–$110 (every 3 weeks), with a 20% tip on each, at the prices every guide’s range includes.
  • Acrylic nails every 2 weeks at a $30 fill: about $950–$970 a year. A full set at $40–$55, then 25 fills at $30 (every 2 weeks), with a 20% tip on each, at your fill price, and the full set at the prices every guide’s range includes.
  • Balayage twice a year: about $360–$720 a year. 2 balayage appointments at $150–$300 (every 6 months), with a 20% tip on each, at the prices every guide’s range includes.
  • A pedicure every 2 weeks, before the tip: about $910–$1,040 a year. 26 pedicures at $35–$40 (every 2 weeks), before any tip, at the prices every guide’s range includes.

Common mistakes

  • Pricing the full set and not the refills: at every 3 weeks, the refills are about 86–88% of the first year of lash extensions.
  • Leaving out the tip: 20% on every visit is a fifth more over the year.
  • Forgetting the braiding hair: StyleSeat prices medium box braids “plus the price of approximately 10 packs of pre-stretched braiding hair”.
  • Counting a gap the guides do not give: they say refills every 2–4 weeks for lashes and fills every 2–3 weeks for acrylics.
  • Reading a price guide as a quote: your city, the stylist, nail art, toner and longer hair all change the price.

How to spend less

Ask for the regrowth service rather than a new set. StyleSeat: “You can get the best value out of your manicure and pedicure appointments by looking for packages, asking about discounts, bringing your own polish, and asking for regrowth services like fills.” For balayage, a toner between full appointments. The Pricer: “Many people who love the balayage aesthetic book a full service once, then keep the look alive with partial refreshers and toning sessions.” The calculator shows what a longer gap saves in a year.
